INSPIRES

Intelegent and Sustainable processing of Innovative Rare-Earth magnets

Duration: 2021 - 2024

Coordinator: EIT Raw Materials

Project partners: main partner Spanish National Research Council (Spain), ostali partnerji so Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) (Belgium), National Research Council (Italy), Domel, Elektromotorji in gospodinjski aparati, d.o.o (Slovenia), Gorenje gospodinjski aparati, d.o.o. (Slovenia), Inštitut Jožefa Štefana (Slovenia), KOLEKTOR KFH, Pogonski sistemi in komponente d.o.o. (Slovenia), Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Surovina družba za predelavo odpadkov d.o.o. (Slovenia), Technical University of Denmark (Denmark) and ZEOS, ravnanje z električno in elektronsko opremo, d.o.o. (Slovenia)

Purpose and goals:

Capture of permanent magnets (PMs) from e-waste, recycling and reuse of these in the production of new PMs. With this, we want to increase the share of PMs from e-waste that could be reused in the production of appliances and ensure the greatest possible capture of these rare soils from e-waste.

The role of ZEOS:

  • sorting appliances and determining the location of PMs
  • inventory and recording of disconnected appliances
  • transport of devices for magnet extraction to project partners
  • preparation of a proposal for the process of elimination of devices for obtaining PMs
  • monitoring test results at the Jožef Štefan Institute for PMs

Results:

Pending.
